Romania – the first European country that organizes Corporate Olympics

If its winter and we are in Brasov, what can we do? We can learn to ski or just ski, we can sleigh, we can take spectacular pictures of the snowy mountains, we can drink mulled wine on the mountain in a cabin or simply watch from the window while is snowing, while we get warm near the fire and drink a cup of hot chocolate.

Or … if you are an employee of a company, you can join and participate in the first Olympic Games for amateurs of corporate employees in Romania. Games will take place in Poiana Brasov next month, from 7 to 10 February. The 10 sports to choose from in the competition are alpine skiing, snow volleyball, alpine curling, snowboarding, hockey, bowling, billiards, table tennis, swimming and shooting.

Where did this competition? In 1986, California, was founded Winter Corporate Games that apply to amateur athletes who love fitness, sports and health. Today, the event takes place in over 20 countries and more than 50 cities in the world. We could say that Winter Corporate Games are kind of teambuilding, only to have lower costs and provide a touch of originality, but also involve a higher level participants.

In Romania, the first edition of the Winter Olympics amateur was officially launched on November 15, 2012, at the residence of the British Ambassador in Bucharest, Martin Harris. During the opening ceremony spoke Dan Cristea, who is a Balkan champion skier who won six gold medals during 1968-1974. He compared the Winter Corporate Games with World Youth and Student Festival 1953, which addressed young people who wanted to train, and to improve in terms of sports. This competition is very important for Romania, as it will help promote Poiana Brasov as a European destination and thus will help develop our country in general.

Within this global sporting event for corporate amateurs will be able to enroll employees of private and state companies, their friends and families, NGOs and entrepreneurs. More information about registration and about the competition you can find HERE , on Facebook page Transylvania Winter Corporate Games and at phone number 0751070994. You still have time to register until Tuesday, 15 January. The weather forecast for February looks favorable for organizing the competition.

Hotel Alpin, which is right in the heart of Poiana Brasov, is looking forward to the start of the Olympics for amateurs and is waiting for you and will make available for you not only skiing monitors, billiards tables and pool to practice swimming techniques, but also offers you the possibility to rent ski equipment.
